A Border History: poem, music, and “won’t win any awards” cinematography by Forrest Gander

 
 

On a less apocalyptic note, there’s “A Border History: Rattlesnakes and Light,” a video tour of the Mojave Desert by the award-winning poet and essayist Forrest Gander. Though Gander, who was born in the desert town of Barstow, Calif., probably won’t win any awards for cinematography, the soundtrack featuring one his Mojave-themed poems is nothing short of mesmerizing.
